Daily Prompt: Audience of One

I don’t usually do Word Press’s Daily Prompts because I just don’t have the time to write every day. However, this daily prompt “Audience of One” caught my attention. As you as I read “Audience of One,” and I immediately thought of the Big Daddy Weave powerful song by that name.

Here are the lyrics to this amazing prayer of a song…

I come on my knees
To lay down before you
Bringing all that I am
Longing only to know you
Seeking your face
And not only your hand
I find you embracing me
Just as I am

And I lift these songs
To you and you alone
As I sing to you
In my praises make your home

To my audience of one
You are Father, and you are Son
As your spirit flows free,
Let it find within me
A heart that beats to praise you.
And now just to know you more
Has become my great reward
To see your kingdom come
And your will be done
I only desire to be yours,
Lord

So what could I bring
To honor your majesty
What song could I sing
That would move the heart of royalty
And all that I have
Is the life that you’ve given me
So Lord let me live for you
My song with humility

And Lord as the love song
Of my life is played
I have one desire
To bring glory to your name

To my audience of one
You are Father, and you are Son
As your spirit flows free,
Let it find within me
A heart that beats to praise you.
And now just to know you more
Has become my great reward
To see your kingdom come
And your will be done
I only desire to be yours,
Lord

And we lift these songs
To you and you alone
As we live for you
In our praises make your home

To my audience of one
You are Father, and you are Son
As your spirit flows free,
Let it find within me
A heart that beats to praise you.
And now just to know you more
Has become my great reward
To see your kingdom come
And your will be done
I only desire to be yours,
Lord

Why I blog? (part 1)

I started It’s Just Me with Goodnight, Amy! on January 31, 2006 to give my friend Amy something to read!

What was going on in my life at that time… Matt and I had been married for 6 years and had moved 3 times already. I wasn’t teaching math in high school anymore. I was raising our kids – Abbye who was 2 years old and Hannah who was 8 months. Also, in about 8 months I would find out I was pregnant with Eva. (I knew I was pregnant by The Smell of Coffee =))

Anyway, I blogged pretty regularly through 2006, was spotty in 2007, none in 2008, once in 2009, and then decided to restart in December of 2010 with Do I want to restart?.

Through the years I’ve used this blog as many things… I’ve used it to remind the Blessings Book Club about which book we were reading. I’ve shared some good deals, free stuff or contests I’ve ran across. I’ve also written tougher stuff like A Sin is a Sin, Yes?, Does Everything in My Life Have to be Planned!, and I miss my grandma!.

Entertainment Updates have been a constant. I included what I was reading, listening to, watching, and playing. These are usually written like Feb. 2, 2006 – Entertainment Update,  April 28, 2006 – Entertainment Update or April 3, 2011 – Entertainment Update, but sometimes I was more specific, as in Pride & Prejudice, To End All Wars, and You’ll be amazed!.

A blog wouldn’t be a blog without stuff about what I was learning, going through or thinking about. Some of these include Let’s Live a Life with NO Regrets!!, The Cure for Anxiety, Immediately, What I Learned Today…, My Purpose?, So Much To Do & So Little Time!, What a Wonderful Day!, They say “Don’t cry over spilled milk”…, and Good Times as a Mommy!

I also included things I wanted to share like quotes, songs, other people’s blog posts. One of my favorites is Do you wake up TO your kids or FOR your kids?. Some other examples are Deal with death again and again…, In the Garden with Adam and Eve (Beat Poetry), and Kyle Wyley. I posted The correct quote of Blaise Pascal because I found out I had posted an assumed but incorrect quote earlier. The incorrect quote was getting so much traffic that I thought I should correct it, but people keep going to the wrong one!

I’m a mom so of course I’ll include a few blogs about the kids – Hallelujah!, A Rite of Passage?!, What Makes Me Smile?, Abbye’s Poem, and Dance Recital Tomorrow. Actually, after looking back through my blog, I was surprised that there weren’t more of these.

I posted about things I’m involved in or I’ve joined, like I’m Joining Post-A-Week for 2011, Trying BookSneeze, What’s in the Bible Street Team, and Sponsoring Children.

Lastly, I’ve also included silly stuff like Eye Twitching, Not nerdy, but definitely not hip., Yummy!, What is your Perfect Major?, and of course Organizing Your Snacks!.

But what now?…

Jesus Loves Me

Jesus Loves Me

by Anna Bartlett Warner

Jesus loves me! This I know,

For the Bible tells me so.

Little ones to Him belong;

They are weak, but He is strong.

Chorus:

Yes, Jesus loves me!

Yes, Jesus loves me!

Yes, Jesus loves me!

The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me! This I know,

As He loved so long ago,

Taking children on His knee,

Saying, “Let them come to Me.”

Chorus

Jesus loves me when I’m good,

When I do the things I should,

Jesus loves me when I’m bad,

Though it makes Him very sad.

Chorus

Jesus loves me still today,

Walking with me on my way,

Wanting as a friend to give

Light and love to all who live.

Chorus

Jesus loves me! He who died

Heaven’s gate to open wide;

He will wash away my sin,

Let His little child come in.

Chorus

Jesus loves me! Loves me still

Tho’ I’m very weak and ill;

That I might from sin be free

Bled and died upon the tree.

Chorus

Jesus loves me! He will stay

Close beside me all the way;

Thou hast bled and died for me,

I will henceforth live for Thee.

Chorus

Kyle Wyley

KyleWyley.jpgKyle Wyley wrote a song, The Flame of Love, for us and sang it at our wedding.  This was in January of 2000.  (My family has known his for a while.  Also, Matt and Kyle went to the same college for a while and became friends.)

KyleWyleys debut album.jpgSince then he has been working on his career in music.  Now he has his first song that will be on the radio.  You can click here to listen to the song Nine to Five / Thank the Lord for the Night Time.  (I think this is his version of an older song.)

Honestly, I prefer some of his other songs!  His debut cd came out in June 29, 2005.  It has some really good songs, and most are orginal.  His label is Paul Lovelace Productions.  My favorite is With You.  He did an awesome job on an older song, All That Glitters.  If you enjoy pop or country music, check him out!  He’s got a great voice!!

Here’s his website http://www.kylewyley.com/.

I’ve included the lyrics for the song “With You”

I thought that I had been in love before
But something deep in my heart
Whispered to me there was something more
And now I know you were the missing part

With you all my fears are gone
It’s like I’ve loved you all along
You’re the mirror to my soul
With you I finally understand
Exactly who I am
It’s God’s forever plan to be with you

I can be myself and not pretend and let my true colors show
Still you love me
Still you’re by best friend
Without a word; without a doubt I know

With you all my fears are gone
It’s like I’ve loved you all along
You’re the mirror to my soul
With you I finally understand
Exactly who I am
It’s God’s forever plan to be with you

Bridge

Repeat Chorus

Here’s a song from BarlowGirl

Harder Than the First Time
I walked with you
Just like we’ve done for so long
You seemed so near
But even that’s become so common
It’s not just you, just been together so long
That I thought I knew everything about you
But today I saw; did you open up my eyes?
‘Cause I feel like I’ve just seen you for the first time
Chorus
I didn’t see you
But God I want to
You’ve come alive
and I think I’ve fallen harder than the first time
Was I so blind; how did I not see you?
Yet in all that time you never left my side
So for all my life, I will live to know you
So here I am; I’ll take your hand
Chorus
Bridge
I see your face; I feel you close
The love you’ve always shown me
Won’t miss it now, can’t waste a day
Jesus I’m yours completely
Chorus
