The Lord Is My Pace Setter

The Lord is my pace setter…I shall not rush

He makes me stop for quiet intervals

He provides me with images of stillness which restore my serenity

He leads me in the way of efficiency through calmness of mind and his guidance is peace

Even though I have a great many things to accomplish each day, I will not fret, for his presence is here

His timelessness, his all importance will keep me in balance

He prepares refreshment and renewal in the midst of my activity by anointing my mind with his oils of tranquility

My cup of joyous energy overflows

Truly harmony and effectiveness shall be the fruits of my hours for I shall walk in the Pace of my Lord and dwell in his house for ever.

    • After 5 years, I don’t remember even where I got it from. However, it was incorrectly credited. Thank you for correcting me, and I will change the above post!

      Sincerely,
      Sarah

  1. I have been learning about entering the rest of God. This helps me when i confess it to be in his rest each even i have a big load of work. Glory to God.

  2. I have no wish to start an argument but this was indeed written in Japan. There is a book called ‘Psalm 23 An Anthology’ that lists many versions inspired by the psalm and there you will find the Japanese author.

  3. I’ve done a bit of googling and find that the version you list may well be by the author you ascribe it to, and I apologise. However, the Japanese version that I referred to is extremely similar and it may be that she was inspired by it.
