Please Pray!!
Next Friday Matt and I are going on a trip! We are leaving on June 9th and coming back on the 12th. We are going to Houston and will watch the Braves play the Astros. (Matt's a Braves fan.) We are excited and looking forward to this time with just us!! However, I must ask for your prayer for me. I have been sooooooo exhausted. When the girls both go down for a nap, I take one too. Then I can finish the rest of the day. But when I don't take a nap, I am ready to call it a day around 7pm. However, this is not good on a trip!! I don't want to need a nap or to go to bed extremely early!! So, please pray for health and TONS of energy for me!!!!!! =) Thanks!!

I’m proud of you, Taylor!
As most of you know, Taylor Hicks won American Idol last night.
However, there is something else that I want to share. Taylor was singing “In The Ghetto” with Toni Braxton about another baby being born in the ghetto. And she tired to get him to bump and grind!! How inappropriate! As I was watching, I thought that she looked like she was moving in on Taylor! Then, in a totally embarrassing and totally obvious move, she grabbed his hand, placed it on her hip, and started to move her hind quarters in to his front side!! BUT, Taylor chose not to join her!!! At the end of the song, he gave her a hug as if to say, “Nothing personal.”
Actually, that was my favorite part of the show. Here is this Diva – Toni Braxton – being shot down by someone who is very, very new to the entertainment business! How many times has that happened to her?!
I thought Taylor was very classy! Thanks, Taylor, for not choosing to trash a show that is considered to be a “family show”!! (I won’t go in to Prince’s choice of song!)

My due date is December 28th!
![]()
I still can’t figure out how to make pictures bigger and clearer on here, but here’s the first picture of our baby! I had a doctor appointment yesterday, and the due date is December 28th. The doctor said everything looks great!
Keep the baby and I in your prayers. I don’t feel well and am extremely tired. I’m so far behind with our laundry and other household jobs! I’ve been trying to lay down when the girls are both down for a nap. I never realized how much I got done during that time! =)

Mother’s Day 2006
I am sooooooooooooo tired! (This pregnancy has been different than the others so far. Matt’s thinking that means that baby is a boy!!) So, I’ve slacked on adding to my blogs. Oops!
I wanted to share about my Mother’s Day. Matt was working, so Abbye, Hannah, and I went to church. Matt took his lunch break early and came to our Sunday School class. After church my brother, Mark, ate with Abbye, Hannah, and I. Matt was still working and my parents were in Maryland at my youngest brother’s graduation from grad. school. For supper Matt grilled some steaks. We also had loaded mashed potatoes (mashed potatoes with cheese, bacon, and sour cream), squash, and rolls. It was delicious!!!!!
My girls and Matt also gave me a couple of gifts. I received a t-shirt that says “I never knew how much love my heart could hold till someone called me ‘Mommy’” and Sonnets from the Portuguese by Elizabeth Barrett Browning.

Gmail is down!
I can't get to my email. I've talked to a couple of friends who use gmail, and they aren't have problems?! Since Blessings Book Club is Friday and I can't send email reminders, I thought I would post a reminder here. (I did try to call everyone, too!)
We will be meeting at the same time and same place to discuss House by Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker.
Remember: Even if you haven't read it, we just want everyone's company!!
Our next book will be Till We Have Faces by C. S. Lewis.
My youngest brother will be home for the summer before heading to New York. He just graduated with his masters from St. John's College in Annapolis, MD. (Congrats, David!) I was hoping he would join our book club for the time that he's here! He'll be an interesting addition!

Yummy!
For Mother's Day, Matt got me the delicious Godiva Belgian Dark Chocolate Bar. It is "dark chocolate ice cream enrobed in Godiva milk chocolate coating." It is wonderful, perfect, YUMMY!! =) Matt and I totally agree that by far it is the best ice cream that we have even had!
Go ahead and give it a try!!

Good Morning!
Potty training…what a challenge!
My mom is worried about us expecting another baby with Abbye not being potty trained. But I would hope and pray that Abbye will have decided in 9 months or 8 or 7 that releasing all her waste in the potty is the way to go! I phrase it that way because she knows how to do it, but she has to choose to do it! Right now she would much rather pee in her pants and then go get the cleaning spray and rag to clean up anything that got on the carpet!!

The Smell of Coffee =)
I have always loved the smell of coffee, even before I would drink any.
At first, it was a smell I associated with my grandparents’ house, since my parents don’t drink coffee.
In high school I enjoyed cappuccinos from a local gas station, which I learned later are not at all similar to real cappuccinos!
In college I tried other kinds of coffee drinks at a really neat coffee shop that was close to ACU.
About three years ago I started drinking more coffee drinks, since I joined a book club that met at a coffee shop.
It’s just been in the last several months that I’ve actually enjoyed coffee without anything in it! But that’s only because I use the china that my grandma gave me, which her and grandpa received when they got married. (Matt and I didn’t register for any china when we got married. Since we had only lived at home and in the dorms, we didn’t have anything, so it just wasn’t practical. But a couple years later, I was very excited when Grandma gave me their china!) When I drink out of this cup, I feel special and sophisticated!
Anyway, the whole reason why I was thinking about the smell of coffee is that Matt was going to make some coffee on Monday. He opened the coffee container, the smell hit me, and I was nauseated. I had been feeling a little uneasy for a little bit, but after that I just knew! So, the next morning I took a test… We are expecting a baby!!
At first we thought that the baby would be due around the middle of January. However, after consulting Matt and conferring with Jami, we figured out that the first day of my last period was either March 17th or 18th. So, the due date may be toward the end of December. I have a doctor appointment next Monday, May 22. I’ll have more information after that!!
Matt’s pretty sure this baby will be a boy, since I’ve never felt like this when I’ve been pregnant. (But he always makes sure to include that the health of the baby, not the sex is the important thing!) When I was pregnant with Abbye, I was tired, but not sick. With Hannah, I was definitely tired and a little queasy a couple of days. However, I’ve been queasy all day for a while. So, we’ll see!
Please keep us in your prayers! Thanks!!

What Are You Good At…What Are You Not Good At?
The other morning I was checking out the blogs I regularly visit. Over at http://www.girlswriteout.blogspot.com/ Denise Hunter says I was just thinking about giftedness…. She closed by saying, "Okay, how about you. God has gifted you with some great skills and abilities. Stop for a moment and think about them–and thank God for them. Are you a great listener? Could you give an impromptu speech on any given topic? (I bow at your feet) Can you make a dollar stretch for days? Come on, don't be shy, let's here 'em." So, I wanted to think about this and respond here. But I want your response too!
What am I good at? Organizing, Finances, Reading, Listening, …?
What am I not good at? Organizing! (I have my good days and bad days, or maybe it’s more like good areas and bad areas in the house!), Keeping plants alive, Prioritizing, Being productive without sleep!!, …?
I've been holding on to this post for awhile. However, I still can't think on any more to add, so I'll just go ahead and post it. What are your strengths and weaknesses?
